Totems of Civilization

Totems of Civilization is a meditation on the traces of the human spirit.

Through travel, I seek the symbols that civilization has inscribed upon the land. We raise towers, lay stones, and build dwellings, seeking shelter for the spirit beneath the spires of faith. More than geographic landmarks, they are spiritual markers of humanity's enduring struggle against time and the wilderness.

What I capture is not the commotion of crowds, but the forms left behind as civilization is shaped by time. Through the layers of survival, daily life, and faith, I see how we create places to belong upon this solitary planet.
