Every mountain possesses its own unique countenance. Some are gentle and welcoming; others are formidable and stern. Some embrace you with open generosity, while others stand proud and solitary, far removed from the mortal world. Much like humans, mountains have their own moods. Every time I look up at a summit or gaze down from its heights, it becomes an honest, heartfelt dialogue with the mountain. Alpine photography, for me, is the act of giving form to the thoughts and emotions evoked through these quiet exchanges.
