Mt. Dongjun is located on the eastern side of the southern Central Mountain Range within Yushan National Park and is one of the significant peaks of the Southern Section Three mountain system. The landscape is characterized by broad ridgelines, exposed rocky slopes, and alpine grasslands, representing the vast and remote character of southern Taiwan’s high mountains. Shaped by tectonic uplift, crustal deformation, and long-term weathering, Mt. Dongjun features expansive terrain with a strong sense of scale and wilderness. The surrounding environment preserves alpine grasslands, dwarf bamboo slopes, and Yushan juniper communities, supporting diverse high-mountain ecosystems. Due to its remote location and limited human disturbance, the mountain retains a high degree of natural integrity. From the summit, panoramic views extend across the Yushan Range, the Southern Section Two peaks, and the valleys on the eastern side of the Central Mountain Range, making Mt. Dongjun an exceptional destination for experiencing and photographing Taiwan’s pristine alpine landscapes.
