Mt. Dashuiku is located in the southern section of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range within Yushan National Park and serves as an important summit along the Southern Section Two traverse route. The mountain is characterized by broad ridgelines, alpine grasslands, and gentle slopes, creating a striking contrast with the surrounding rugged peaks. Its name originates from nearby Dashuiku Lake, a natural alpine water body that reflects the close relationship between high-mountain hydrology and landscape evolution in Taiwan. The surrounding environment preserves alpine grasslands, Yushan juniper, dwarf bamboo, and cold-adapted plant communities, forming a distinctive high-elevation ecosystem. Positioned in the heart of the southern Central Mountain Range, Mt. Dashuiku offers expansive views of the Yushan Peaks, Mt. Xiuguluan, Mt. Mabolasi, and the continuous ridgelines of the Southern Section Two. Its open landscapes and panoramic scenery make it an exceptional location for experiencing and photographing Taiwan’s alpine wilderness.
