Mt. Nanhu Main Peak is the dominant summit of the Nanhu Mountain Group in the northernmost section of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range, protected within Taroko National Park and recognized as one of Taiwan's Five Great Mountains. The area is renowned for preserving some of Taiwan's finest glacial landforms, including cirques, glacial basins, and erosional features that provide valuable evidence of Quaternary glaciation and alpine landscape evolution. Extensive Taiwan fir forests, alpine meadows, and diverse high-mountain flora surround the peak, supporting a rich alpine ecosystem. From the summit, panoramic views encompass the Nanhu cirques, Central Jianshan, and the rugged ridgelines of the northern Central Mountain Range. Its majestic terrain and remarkably intact alpine environment have earned Mt. Nanhu Main Peak the distinguished title of the "King of Taiwan's Mountains."
