Mt. Xiuguluan is one of the most prominent peaks in the southern section of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range, located within Yushan National Park. Composed primarily of metamorphic rocks, the mountain has been shaped by tectonic uplift and prolonged erosion, forming a broad summit ridge that contrasts with the steep surrounding terrain. The area preserves extensive alpine forests, bamboo grasslands, and high-mountain meadows, providing important habitats for Taiwan's unique alpine flora and fauna. Its open summit offers sweeping panoramic views of the Yushan Peaks, the Southern Section Two (Nan'erduan) mountains, and the ridgelines of the Central Mountain Range. With its expansive landscapes and well-preserved alpine environment, Mt. Xiuguluan is regarded as one of Taiwan's most iconic destinations for mountain landscape photography and high-altitude nature appreciation.
