Yushan North Peak is one of the principal summits of the Yushan Range, ranking as Taiwan's fourth-highest mountain. The mountain forms a narrow ridgeline, with gentler eastern slopes contrasting sharply with the steep cliffs and rock faces to the west and north, reflecting the active mountain-building and erosion that have shaped Taiwan's alpine landscape. The summit is home to the Yushan Weather Station, the highest meteorological station in Taiwan, where long-term observations contribute to high-altitude weather and climate research. The surrounding alpine environment supports Taiwan fir forests, Yushan rhododendrons, and alpine grasslands that flourish during the spring and summer flowering seasons. From the summit, visitors enjoy exceptional views of Yushan Main Peak, the Central Mountain Range, and the Alishan Range, making North Peak one of the finest panoramic viewpoints in the Yushan massif.
