Yushan South Peak is one of the principal summits of the Yushan Massif. Recognized as one of Taiwan's renowned "Ten Harsh Peaks," it is distinguished by its rugged terrain of exposed metamorphic rock, sharp ridgelines, and dramatic cliffs sculpted by tectonic uplift and long-term erosion. The summit lies within an alpine tundra environment, where creeping Yushan juniper, alpine rhododendrons, dwarf bamboo, and hardy herbaceous plants have adapted to strong winds and harsh climatic conditions. From the peak, visitors are rewarded with magnificent views of Yushan Main Peak, the surrounding Yushan Range, and the southern section of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range, making it one of the finest locations for appreciating the grandeur of Taiwan's highest alpine landscape.
